20ID.TF2 Improves To 6-0 In ESEA-i With Win Over Complexity
Posted by Devin on May 29, 2009 - 2:43 AM #414

With the third season of ESEA's Team Fortress 2 Invite division now well underway, 20ID sits at first place with a undefeated record of six wins and no losses. The latest victory came at the expense of Complexity, who fell to 20ID on badlands by a score of 5-2.

The first half of the match saw 20ID take four of six rounds. Complexity started strong with a quick first round win, but solid teamwork and superb soldiering by Seagulls would overwhelm coL down the stretch.

The final round of the first half and the only round in the second half would see 20ID pushed to their backmost point. Despite being backed into a corner twice, solid Demoman defense by Alex and organized pushing by the team as a whole would help 20ID push coL all the way back to the other side of the map. 20ID would take both rounds and subsequently the win.

Week 4 of ESEA-i Season 3 sees 20ID take on two solid rosters on Dustbowl. 20ID will face third-ranked Evil Geniuses on June 2nd, followed by a rematch with TBA (formerly Pandemic) on the 5th.

20ID Re-Pops TF2 Cherry with Win over Virgin Police
Posted by Devin on May 12, 2009 - 12:54 AM #413

Earlier this month, 20ID was thrilled to announce the return of its Team Fortress 2 division. Comprised of hubris, alex, Seagull, Ruwin, saber07 and dosR, the new lineup was expected to rock the TF2 community, and earned the #4 spot in Gotfrag's Team Fortress 2 U.S. rankings before playing in a single match.

Tonight, those expectations were fulfilled, as 20ID defeated Virgin Police 5-2 on cp_well. 20ID.TF2 hit the ground running, taking the first two rounds before giving up one to vPo. The second half went just as well, with 20ID taking the 4th, 5th, and 7th rounds while only giving up one to the Virgins. Mummy, who ran sniper for vPo, kept many of the rounds close with sniping at mid, but the Soldier duo of Seagull and dosR (38 frags each), combined with the exceptional Medic work by Ruwin (32 ubercharges and 2 train suicides), proved too much for vPo.

20ID now sits atop the ESEA Invite division with Complexity, and expects another victory over Push Gaming later this week. Be sure to join #20id on irc.gamesurge.net on Wednesday night to follow the action.

UPDATE: Thanks to hubris for putting the vPo demo up: http://www.gotfrag.com/tf2/demos/26687

20ID Wins TGL's Burning Nations Tournament!
Posted by Devin on December 7, 2008 - 11:17 PM #410

After six long weeks of competition against teams from across North America and Europe, 20ID emerged victorious in the Burning Nations Frontlines: Fuel of War tournament. With the Total Gaming League's tournament now over, 20ID takes home $2,500 in cash and the honor of winning the only major FFoW cash prize tournament ever to take place in the United States.

With Solstice Gaming beating Check Six in the semi-finals last week, many were expecting a close match against the team from across the pond. To make matters even more complicated, the 20ID Ventrilo server was invaded by saboteurs not once but twice during the match against Solstice. Unfortunately, one of the IP's responsible for the Ventrilo attacks belonged to none other than "Invisible_Scope", leader of Burning Nation participants The Exiles, a team that was defeated by 20ID in week 3 of the tournament.

Despite the "technical difficulties", 20ID prevailed over Solstice Gaming, and it was anything but a close match. Even with three of 20ID's players disconnected form vent during the first round, 20ID managed to beat Solstice on the Western Coalition side, 52-0. With all six members back in vent for the second round, Solstice was easily overwhelmed and 20ID took the round as the Red Star Alliance, 135-0, along with the match and the tournament.

20ID would like to thank Total Gaming League for running the tournament and putting up the cash prizes, as well as all the teams who made this event so much fun to play in. This thanks also goes out to the teams/players whose attempts to sabotage our finals match made our victory look exponentially more impressive.

Also, as today is the 67th anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor, we at 20ID would like to thank all the men and women of our armed and clandestine services, past present and future. Your sacrifices allow us to play in frivolous video game tournaments for money. Thank you.

20ID to Compete in TGL’s Burning Nation’s Tournament
Posted by Devin on October 16, 2008 - 2:36 AM #409

After successful runs in Team Fortress 2 and Call of Duty 4, 20ID took a break from competitive gaming. For some, summertime was a chance to kick back, relax and enjoy some deserved R&R from the years of constant and successful competition this organization has seen. For others, gaming was to take a back seat to real life, with several members looking ahead to college, graduate school, and new careers.

After several months of inactivity, 20ID will be taking part in Total Gaming League’s Burning Nations tournament. Starting November 1st and continuing through the holiday season, teams will compete in Frontlines: Fuel of War in a 6v6 format over a six week period. With $10,000 in cash prizes going to the top eight teams, along with 8800GTX video cards and HP Blackbird 002 gaming PCs being given away, the Burning Nations tournament promises to make this holiday season an exciting one.

Our FFoW tournament roster includes some staples of the organization, including bub (Battlefield 2, 2142), Daskro (Battlefield 2, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict), and Ravenwebb (Battlefield 2, World in Conflict). Burning Nations will also see the return of several former members, including Chlorox (Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2) and DEP (Battlefield 2). See our complete roster below:

God who is this clown and why is he posting - Team Fortress 2
Posted by cyzer on May 30, 2008 - 2:43 AM #408
20id's Team Fortress 2 division has recently gone through a makeover that some may consider revitalizing and exciting. Gone from the team is longtime member Alex 'alexwut' Anthone combined with Chris 'ginc' Polan deciding to take a more managerial role with the team. Thus we're pleased to announce the arrival of 3 new members; jmitchell, perfekt, and dummy. The three were a packaged deal that have very strong gaming backgrounds stemming from a productive tenure with our rivals over at Pandemic. We are very pleased to have them on our team and look forward to competiting alongside them.

The additions and subtractions have left us with a very different makeup, we have more flexibility then previous roster lineups allowed. The new roster looks something like this:

ginc <-still the leader
Drakka
Motard
hubris
cyzer
dummy
jmitchell
perfekt

On related match news, we're currently rolling through the Caleague playoffs with recent victories over HeX and Paradigm Shift and we're looking very promising in taking the CAL title. CEVO is due to announce it's new upcoming season and the CGS has announced a $50,000 TF2 & CS1.6 tournament that ends with finals being played at the combine (which is normally held at the playboy mansion). This has led to the TF2 community revival and we welcome the new competition that is bound to emerge.

On LAN news; I have received many questions asking if we'll be attending the NVISION 08 TF2 tournament... chances are we won't. The money just isn't there to cover our team travelling costs and unless a sudden sponsor emerges the outcome looks bleak. This is a shame too because even with the stiff competition our chances still looked bright. You never know though, miracles do happen!

I don't really know how to end this amazing first news post but I did read something awesome at the kanye west concert.. I leave you with “The Missing Banister Theory”: “When walking down the street, you can walk in one line perfectly without ever falling over. Now take the same city block, make it a foot wider and then put it a hundred stories high. You’re going to be so focused on the fact that you don’t have a banister that you’re more likely to fall because of it.

I don't care if you didn't like that.

lol press release lol

The inaugural CEVO season is at an end and nearly every team in NA is making roster adjustments. 20ID is no exception with vane and kaybee hanging up their power gloves midseason to focus on school. Our roster depth was on full display as alex and drakka seamlessly transitioned into the starting lineup, helping us bring home a second place trophy and some cash.

With xerxes recently going inactive, 20ID joins the flock of TF2 teams looking for players. After several grueling interviews and strenuous tests, we are proud to announce the acquisition of our newest member: cyzer.
