20ID Wins Gamereplays Tournament
Posted by Daskrolator on May 9, 2010 - 5:49 PM #425

Two months in and 20ID has done a pretty good job.

20ID reached the semi-final round in the TWL Kick Off Tournament
20ID has won 1st and 2nd pre-season rounds in both TWL's and XPL's Season 1 8vs8 leagues
and 20ID has won the Gamereplay's 4vs4 Squad Rush Tournament, winning 100 bux.

Also in the last two months 20ID has added some new players to the fold. Here's a list:
Perfuse - A former quake player who likes playing engineer
Shades - He's a friend of Nysil's and he's pretty good
FJP 3.0 - BF2 veteran with a mic that sometimes works

With the competitive Bad Company 2 leagues just getting started expect to see much more from 20ID. Stay tuned for more tournament participation and other announcements. Oh yeah, and make sure you’re signed up on our forums and idle #20id on irc.gamesurge.net.

20ID Plans for Bad Company 2
Posted by Devin on March 2, 2010 - 1:32 AM #424

20ID is finally returning to Battlefield.

It’s been over two and a half years since 20ID last played a match involving a Battlefield title. Serious competition in 2142 didn’t last nearly as long as it did in BF2, with most of the top-tier teams leaving after a single season. After the end of season one in TGL and CAL, 20ID moved onto other titles, including Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, World in Conflict, Call of Duty 4, and Team Fortress 2.

Time away from the Battlefield franchise was well spent, including several first and second place finishes in World in Conflict tournaments, and first place in the third season of ESEA-Invite for Team Fortress 2. But with the release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, we are coming back to the franchise that has helped define PC gaming for the last eight years. With an overall BF win-loss record of 362-32, 20ID is poised to take BC2 competition by storm, both online and on LAN.

This time around, the team will be captained by Greer “Daskrolator” Carper and Taz “SpAz” Carper, with plenty of 20ID veterans filling in the remaining slots. Stay tuned for complete roster information, tournament participation and other announcements.

20ID.TF2 Blanks Loaded in First Round of ESEA Playoffs
Posted by Devin on October 22, 2009 - 10:57 PM #422

After losing to Loaded twice during the regular season, 20ID.TF2 beat the former Pandemic squad 5-0 in the first round of the ESEA-invite playoffs on Tuesday. Seagull and Scruff both dropped 14 kills while Ruwin led the team with 44 points.

Playing a man down, Loaded put forth a valiant effort, but has now dropped to the lower bracket and will face Strickland Propane in the lower bracket semi-finals. 20ID will play Evil Geniuses in the upper bracket finals on cp_yukon.

20ID.TF2 Enters ESEA-Invite Playoffs as Second Seed
Posted by Devin on October 16, 2009 - 4:24 AM #421

After two months of grueling competition against the best Team Fortress 2 teams in North America, 20ID.TF2 stands tall with a 13-3 regular season record in ESEA-Invite. The bakers dozen was good enough to secure a spot in the playoffs, with 20ID playing as the #2 seed.

During the regular season, 20ID split against #1 seed Evil Geniuses 1-1, and lost to third seed Loaded in both matches. Despite this, the team has already kicked practice into overdrive, and plans on making an appearance in the Grand Finals match.

The first round of playoff matchups has 20ID meeting Loaded on Granary, a map that 20ID traditionally does well on (4-1 all time in ESEA). Evil Geniuses will go up against fourth seed Strickland Propane. If teams stick to the set schedule, both matches should go down on October 19th.

In other news, the 20ID forums are back up, after resolving some issues with vBulletin. While the current layout isn't as sexy as the former, we are working on a new theme, and all of the existing user accouts, sections and threads are still intact.

As always, check here, the 20ID forums, and #20id on GameSurge for the latest 20ID.TF2 news.

20ID.TF2 Holds Strong with Five Matches Remaining...
Posted by Devin on September 25, 2009 - 5:23 AM #419

Season 4 of ESEA-Invite for Team Fortress 2 is about 75 percent complete, and the defending champions are holding their own with five matches to go.

20ID.TF2, who beat Evil Geniuses in the Season 3 finals back in July, currently sit in second place overall with an 9-2 record, with the losses coming against their perennial ESEA-i rivals, EG and Loaded. 20ID and EG split their regular season series 1-1, and a second match against Loaded is scheduled for September 30th.

20ID, EG (currently in 1st) and Loaded (3rd) represent the cream of the crop in ESEA-i, and all three teams are expected to make the playoffs. The 4th seed is still up in the air, but if it was chosen today, Vicious Gaming would get the nod.

Check back in here at 20id.org as well as #20id on GameSurge for more info as the regular season wraps up and the playoffs begin in a few weeks. The road to a repeat is here!

Our Forums Are Open!!!
Posted by Devin on August 21, 2009 - 12:43 AM #418

After several months of closed registration, the 20ID forums are once again open to the public. Over the last few months, we were forced to close registration due to a massive influx of spam bots signing up on the 20ID website. Thankfully, our Webmaster Ji-had has updated our forums to the newest version of vBulletin, and inserted several additional security layers that should keep all of the spammers out of sight and out of mind.

Per usual, registration is free and as easy as any other vBulletin forum, so click the "Forums" link at the upper-right side of the page, or point your browser to http://www.20id.org/forum/index.php to sign up. For now, we have several sections open to the public, and will add more if warranted.

Also, feel free to join us on IRC as well! (#20id on gamesurge)

20ID.TF2 Wins ESEA-I!!!
Posted by Devin on July 31, 2009 - 1:21 AM #417

Champions

After the proverbial dust settled late Thursday night, 20ID.TF2 emerged victorious over Evil Geniuses, beating the Canadian juggernaut in the ESEA-Invite finals.

After beating EG on in the first round of the playoffs, and watching them overcome Complexity in the lower bracket, many were expecting EG to pull out a revenge win against 20ID in the finals. However, as the match progressed, it became clear that 20ID was too much for EG to handle, and the end result was a 5-0 steamroll on cp_badlands.

Alexwut and Seagull led 20ID with 19 and 20 frags, respectively, and saber07 led the team with 13 control point captures. "...as the season progressed, Alexwut became really active and absolutely dominant," said 20ID Soldier Seagull of alexwut, the teams Demoman. "While Demomen are the centerpiece of any defense, alexwut was far more effective on offense. He would lead out pushes by sticky jumping into the enemy team, providing a distraction for the rest of our team to push."

By winning TF2 ESEA-I, 20ID has collected a total of 32 league, LAN and event championships in nine different games over the past decade. Despite our long and storied tradition, this latest championship is just as special as the rest.

20ID would like to wish EG and all the other TF2 teams involved in ESEA-I this year the best of luck in the future, and also thanks ESEA for putting on yet another fantastic season of competition. See you in season 4!!!

20ID.TF2 Makes it to ESEA-i Finals with Manhandling of coL on Granary
Posted by Devin on July 23, 2009 - 2:44 PM #416

Another ESEA playoff match, another win for 20ID…

After blanking second seed EG on Badlands last week, 20ID.TF2 found its next opponent in the ESEA Invite playoffs in top seed Complexity. 20ID split its regular season matchups with coL, with a 5-2 win on badlands in week 3, and a 2-1 loss on gravepit in week 6.

The second round matchup found the two powerhouses meeting on granary, a map where 20ID has seen mixed results (win over Push, loss to EG), in the past. However, the team’s history on the map was not a factor in this latest victory. Saber07 led the way to victory as the top fragger (28 kills, 10 assists). Hubris and Seagull were barely behind, with 25 and 23 frags, respectively.

But, per usual, it’s not always about frags; Ruwin, saber07 and RocketSurgeon all had ten or more point captures in the match.

Complexity will now move down to the lower bracket to face EG on gravelpit, and the victor will go on to face 20ID in the ESEA TF2 championship.
